Job summary

Raleigh Oaks Behavioral Health in Garner, NC is hiring a Registered Nurse for full-time day shift. You will provide and supervise nursing care, develop patient care plans, and coordinate with LPNs, CNAs, and other staff on the unit.

Responsibilities include assessing, administering meds, documenting, and communicating with the treatment team. Requirements include RN license, state compact if applicable, CPR and de-escalation training, and preferred psychiatric/behavioral health experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• One or more years’ nursing experience within clinical area of service preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment preferred.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and administration procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs; develops and implements nursing care plans.
• Assesses patient status and communicates findings to providers.
• Transcribes and reviews provider orders per policy.
• Administers medications with two identifiers.
• Notifies providers of significant changes in status and labs.
• Maintains medication accountability and documentation.
• Completes admission and discharge processes accurately.
• Participates in treatment team handoffs and unit activities.
• Educates patients and families on medications, rights, and safety.
