Job summary

Washington State Department of Social and Health Services seeks a Registered Nurse 2 for the Behavioral Health and Treatment Center – Steilacoom Unit in Pierce County. The role provides psychiatric and medical care to adults in competency restoration services, supporting recovery and growth through collaboration with clinicians.

As an RN 2, you will educate patients and families, document changes, and contribute to an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State.
• Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• At least one year of professional nursing experience or college-level nursing education.

Responsibilities

• Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of all patient care provided.
• Educate patients and families regarding medication, treatment plans, behavior interventions, and cottage programs.
• Report and document significant changes in patient condition.
• Prepare shift change report.
• Monitor patients' safety and initiate interventions to prevent harm.
• Lead and co-lead group activities on the ward.
• Sign off patient movements.
• Perform nursing admission assessment.
