Job summary

Washington State Department of Social and Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse 2 at Eastern State Hospital (ESH) to join a behavioral health team providing person-centered care. You will work with psychiatric patients across Adult, Forensic and Geriatric units, applying trauma-informed practices in a fast-paced HM H ward.

Expect responsibilities across care planning, medication administration, de-escalation, and emergency management within a 375-bed inpatient hospital accredited by JCAHO

Qualifications

• Clinical judgment used to make sound decisions based on assessments and goals.
• Clear communication with patients, peers and providers to support care.

Responsibilities

• Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team in planning, delivery, and evaluation of patient care.
• Educate patients on social skills, functional skill development, and medications.
• Monitor behavior and de-escalate high-risk situations when needed.
• Manage psychiatric and medical emergencies as part of the team.
• Assess and document changes in patients’ conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments; produce care plans and risk assessments.
