MaineGeneral Health is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) for the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta, ME. This per diem role supports the 3 South inpatient behavioral health unit, with a variable shift and a per diem schedule designed for flexibility.

Qualified candidates will hold a Maine RN license, have acute care experience with behavioral health patients, and may possess BLS and MOAB certifications.

Qualifications

• Active Maine RN license (or ability to obtain promptly) – required.
• 1 year of acute care RN experience with behavioral health population – preferred.
• BLS and MOAB certification – preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize resources.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care, including transfers, admissions, discharges, and referrals.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and family and provides age-appropriate education.
• Effectively delegates and communicates patient care needs to ancillary personnel; may precept students and new hires.

Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations.
