Job summary

Durham County Government is seeking a clinical supervisor for the STARR program within JUSTICE SERVICES. You will supervise STARR staff, coordinate mental health and substance use disorder services for detainees, and provide professional consultation to jail and court staff.

The role involves developing comprehensive case plans, conducting assessments, and ensuring continuity of care with community providers.

Qualifications

Graduation from a four-year college or university with required experience in clinical substance abuse, counseling and/or education; or master’s degree with related experience.
Master’s degree in human services with two years of clinical substance abuse counseling/education experience.
Graduation from a four-year college/university with four years in human services including two years in clinical substance abuse counseling/education; or nursing/psychiatric nursing experience.
Mental health associate program with five years of human service experience including three years in clinical substance abuse counseling/education.

Responsibilities

Supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems; conduct performance appraisals.
Approve time and leave requests for assigned staff.
Coordinate work schedules; monitor progress; inspect completed work; provide guidance as needed.
Monitor records to meet program and agency requirements; manage budgets for housing, trainings, supplies and orders.
Provide direct individual and group counseling for the agency; participate in jail coordination meetings.
