Job summary

Durham County Government seeks a full-time Behavioral Health Program Manager to oversee STARR staff, provide clinical supervision, and coordinate jail-based mental health and substance use services. The role involves consultations with detention and medical staff, and development of comprehensive care plans.

Under the Clinical Services Manager’s direction, you will ensure quality, continuity of care, and collaboration with community providers.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a four-year college or university and three years of experience in clinical substance abuse, counseling and/or education.
• Master's degree in human service related field and two years of experience in clinical substance abuse counseling and/or education.
• Graduation from an associate or diploma school of nursing and five years of psychiatric nursing experience, including at least three years with substance abusers.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; handles employee concerns and performance appraisals.
• Approve time and leave requests for assigned staff.
• Coordinate, assign, review work and establish schedules; maintain standards and monitor progress.
