Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking a Program Director to lead residential programs serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex behavioral and mental health needs. This hands-on leadership role requires guiding teams in high-acuity environments and crisis situations, focused on person-centered, trauma-informed care.

The position is in‑office, with Monday–Friday hours and on‑call rotation; some travel to Baraboo & Lyndon Station areas and Madison may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Science, or related field is required or strongly preferred.
• 2+ years of leadership experience including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Experience with individuals with co-occurring developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee residential programs, including high-acuity behavioral homes (AFH settings).
• Supervise, coach, and develop Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
• Drive implementation of Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and partner on Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
• Provide leadership during crisis situations with safe, compliant responses.
• Collaborate with families, case managers, and clinical teams to ensure quality care.
• Manage program operations including staffing, budgets, and compliance.
• Train staff on behavioral interventions and safety protocols.
• Conduct performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation, including weekends and odd hours.
