Schedule

Sunday - Thursday (3 - 11:30 PM), Wednesdays (1 - 9 PM)

Function

Assist the Unit Supervisors/Managers in overseeing the functioning of the therapeutic milieu where a safe, consistent environment is maintained and assist clients in growing emotionally, socially, physically, educationally, recreationally, and spiritually.

Guide milieu staff to engage residents in trauma-informed, developmentally-appropriate, culturally-sensitive activities and interactions designed to improve behavior, provide support, and promote healthy development for a successful transition to a community-based setting.

Provide crisis management, coverage on units as needed, and assistance monitoring program activities.

Assume on-call responsibilities during shift and execute appropriate protocols during crisis situations.

Be certified in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention [TCI], conduct related trainings, debriefings, consultations, and oversee behavior management practices as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Good physical and mental health [DCFS Rule 404] (able to lift 40 pounds and stand for most of an 8-hour shift)
  • To provide billable Medicaid services, must have a Bachelor's degree in human services OR a Bachelor's in a non-human services field plus two years of supervised clinical experience OR a high school diploma/GED plus five years of supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Leadership and organization skills
  • Sound professional judgment and problem-solving skills
  • If training is involved, ability to deliver concepts and engage in public speaking
  • Characteristics: nurturing, setting healthy limits, teaching/modeling skills, open to learning and supervision, reliable, respectful, collaborative, effective with interdisciplinary teams
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance to transport clients
  • Sensitivity and respect for diverse individuals and communities
  • Willingness to support Lydia Home’s mission
Salary

$38,000 - $45,000 annually
