Job summary
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is seeking a Behavioral Health Practitioner to join the Substance Use Division in Lincoln and York. Responsibilities include counseling inmates and parolees, developing and updating treatment plans, and coordinating follow-up services to support rehabilitation.
Minimum licensure as Mental Health Practitioner or LMHP/PLADC with Nebraska credentials, plus 3000 hours of supervised counseling, is required.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field.
- Nebraska licensure as Mental Health Practitioner or LMHP/PLADC is required by level.
- Post-degree supervised counseling experience (3000 hours) required for licensure.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate individual, group, and educational counseling sessions related to substance use.
- Plan, review, and revise inmate/parolee treatment plans and progress reports.
- Participate in committees and assist with follow-up treatment services.
