Job summary

Genoa Healthcare, part of Optum and UnitedHealth Group, offers a Pharmacist Intern internship within a collaborative care team serving behavioral health communities. You'll gain hands-on experience in patient care, medication management, and in-clinic pharmacy services.

Primary responsibilities include dispensing medications, advising patients, processing records and claims, ensuring regulatory compliance, and assisting with immunizations.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program.
• Active licensure as a pharmacist intern or equivalent as required by the state Board of Pharmacy.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Distribute drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners.
• Provide information to customers about medications and their use.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing patient records and processing insurance claims.
• Ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy laws.
• Administration of immunizations as allowed by state boards of pharmacy.
• Uphold HIPAA standards when handling PHI.
