Job summary

Community College of Denver seeks an adjunct Peer Support Specialist to teach introductory behavioral health courses at Auraria Campus. The role requires the candidate to live in Colorado with access to in-person teaching, with online or hybrid options where feasible.

Nights and weekends may be required, and additional summer teaching is possible for extra pay. The position emphasizes peer support expertise, inclusive teaching practices, and collaboration with discipline faculty.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least one year of peer support trainings aligned with SAMHSA’s core competencies.
  • Experience teaching in high school, college, or workplace training/psychoeducation.
  • CCD CTE credential is required prior to the start of the semester.

Responsibilities

  • Teach behavioral health courses in multiple modalities (face-to-face, online, synchronous online).
  • Conduct class preparation, evaluate students, and maintain attendance/grade records.
  • Advise students and participate in program assessment, curriculum development and department activities.
  • Attend department meetings and communicate with students and staff in a timely manner.
  • Maintain professional conduct and ethics in alignment with CCD policies.
