Job summary

Brown University Health’s Behavioral Health Attendant (BHA) provides direct, non-clinical support to patients with mental health and behavioral challenges under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will work to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment while upholding patient dignity and Brown University Health care values.

This role requires prior experience in direct patient care or related education, the ability to perform physical tasks, and a commitment to de-escalation and teamwork

Qualifications

• Direct patient observation and non-clinical support required.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure safety and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Observe patients as directed and report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with daily activities and mobility as needed.
• De-escalate situations using approved verbal techniques.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Ensure care areas are safe and orderly.
