Job summary

Horizon Health Corporation seeks a Nurse Manager of Behavioral Health to join UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital in Dubuque, IA. The role leads nursing care delivery, supervises clinical staff, and aligns with hospital goals.

The position requires RN licensure, 5–8 years of related experience, and strong leadership. Collaboration across teams and ongoing staff development are key responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• 5-8 years of related work experience.
• State RN Certification/License in AL required.
• CPR, BLS and ACLS required.
• Crisis Prevention Experience.
• Ability to manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others.
• Ability to manage stress appropriately.
• Proficient in applicable software applications.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in mathematical and analytical skills as they apply to clinical duties.
• Above average organization skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement and enforce clinical staffing plan for direct reports ensuring sufficient nursing personnel to provide for patient care needs in keeping with appropriate regulatory requirements.
• Provide leadership and direction in accordance with the client hospital guidelines and consistent with nursing and program goal philosophies.
• Provide for professional growth and development of nursing staff through training plans and continuing education efforts.
• Monitor nursing personnel performance and conduct regular performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and outside health and social agencies; ensure discharge plans and accurate histories are obtained.
• Continuously audit and review performance and documentation of direct reports for consistency and accuracy.
• Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and regulatory standards; maintain continuity among nursing teams.
• Performs the duties of an RN as needed or when there is a shortage in staff.
• Orient or mentor new nursing staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned by this position.
