Job summary

Horizon Health seeks a Nurse Manager for Behavioral Health in Montgomery, AL overseeing inpatient psychiatric units. You will plan, implement and evaluate nursing care delivery, supervise staff, collaborate with clinical leadership, and uphold regulatory standards.

The role requires active Alabama RN licensure, a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), and 1–3 years of nursing management in an acute mental health setting. Strong leadership and crisis-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Active RN certification/license in Alabama.
• CPR Certification required.
• BLS required.
• ACLS required.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in nursing management.
• Experience in an acute care mental health setting required.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement and enforce clinical staffing plan for direct reports.
• Provide leadership and direction in accordance with hospital guidelines and nursing goals.
• Support professional growth and development of nursing staff.
• Monitor nursing personnel performance and conduct evaluations.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams; ensure discharge plans and timely documentation.
• Audit and review performance and documentation for accuracy.
• Ensure quality of care aligns with standards and goals.
• Maintain continuity among nursing teams and communicate effectively.
• Performs RN duties as needed during shortages.
• Orient or mentor new nursing staff.
• Demonstrate crisis prevention and anger/violence management.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Prioritize multiple tasks and utilize applicable software.
