Job summary

Horizon Health is seeking a Nurse Manager of Behavioral Health to lead inpatient psychiatric units in Northport, Alabama. The role oversees delivery of nursing care, supervises staff, and participates on treatment teams to meet regulatory and clinical goals.

The position requires a BSN (RN) with 5-8 years of related experience, plus AL licensure and CPR/BLS/ACLS. Strong leadership and collaboration skills are essential for coordinating care and ensuring quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• 5-8 years of related work experience.
• State RN Certification/License in AL required.
• CPR, BLS and ACLS required.
• Crisis Prevention Experience
• Ability to manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others.
• Ability to manage stress appropriately.
• Proficient in applicable software applications.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement and enforce clinical staffing plan for direct reports.
• Provide leadership and direction per hospital guidelines and program goals.
• Support professional growth and development of nursing staff.
• Monitor staff performance and conduct regular evaluations.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams; ensure efficient discharge planning and accurate admission histories.
• Audit and review performance and documentation for accuracy and consistency.
• Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and documenting care.
• Perform RN duties as needed during staffing shortages.
• Orient or mentor new nursing staff.
