Job summary

Horizon Health seeks a Nurse Manager for the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at Abbeville General Hospital, Abbeville, LA. You will plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care delivery for a 16-bed unit serving adults 18+.

You will supervise nursing and patient care staff and contribute to hospital goals with strong leadership and collaboration. The role requires RN licensure and 5–8 years in behavioral health, with evidence of staff development and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required; Master's degree preferred.
• 5-8 years of nursing experience in behavioral health.
• Active state RN license required.
• CPR, BLS and ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement and enforce clinical staffing plan for direct reports to ensure sufficient nursing personnel for patient care.
• Provide leadership and direction in line with hospital guidelines and nursing goals.
• Mentor and develop nursing staff through training plans and continuing education.
• Monitor nursing staff performance and conduct regular performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams; ensure efficient discharge planning and accurate admission histories.
• Audit documentation and maintain compliance with standards and policies.
• Maintain quality of care by adhering to standards and improving patient outcomes.
• Perform RN duties as needed and mentor new staff.
