Job summary

Cottonwood Creek Behavioral Hospital, an Oceans Healthcare Company, is seeking a Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse to join our behavioral health team in Meridian, Idaho. You will deliver high-quality nursing care, document findings, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patients’ recovery goals.

Responsibilities include medication administration, patient education, charting, and participating in care planning.

Qualifications

• Current, valid LVN/LPN license to practice in the state of employment.
• Compact licenses are allowed where applicable.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One year of inpatient hospital experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers quality nursing care to assigned group of patients by collecting data and identifying deviations from normal; reassesses patients per assignments and unit protocol under RN supervision.
• Documents findings thoroughly in patient records and communicates assessment results with the care team.
• Implements nursing care interventions per individualized treatment plan in collaboration with other providers; performs procedures as prescribed by physician/LIP.
• Conducts bedside labs, wound care, and assists with activities of daily living.
• Promotes patient coping and adaptability to illness or stressors.
• Provides culturally appropriate communication and interventions; documents special needs.
• Administers medications safely per policies and orders; educates patients about medications.
• Transcribes orders accurately and conducts chart audits per facility guidelines; coordinates with disciplines to ensure continuity of care.
• Utilizes nursing knowledge to meet facility needs and supports evidence-based practice.
• Prepares and acts as a preceptor for new staff; performs other duties as assigned.
