Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Longview is seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care for adults and seniors in an inpatient psychiatric setting. The LVN will document assessments, implement treatment plans, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include accurate charting, ADL assistance, patient education, and leadership in precepting new staff.

Qualifications

• Current LVN license in Texas.
• Experience in inpatient psychiatric care preferred.
• Ability to document accurately in patient records.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to patients as assigned by the nurse in charge.
• Document findings promptly and accurately in the patient record.
• Implement care plans with the multidisciplinary team and follow physician orders.
• Perform bedside procedures and assist with ADLs as needed.
• Support the patient’s coping and adjustment to illness and stressors.
• Communicate with patients and families in a culturally appropriate manner.
• Administer medications safely and verify doses per orders.
• Transcribe orders and participate in chart audits per policy.
• Utilize nursing knowledge to meet patient and facility needs.
• Precept and educate new staff; participate in other duties as assigned.
