Job summary
Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, IL is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for Behavioral Health on the night shift. This position is PRN with potential full-time variation, working under RN supervision to support safety, stability and healing in a behavioral health unit.
Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited LPN program with an Illinois license and BLS. CPI training within 1 month is encouraged, with new grads welcome and a collaborative team environment offered.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Current Illinois LPN license.
- Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross).
- Willingness to complete Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) training within 1 month of hire.
- Clinical experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Physical stamina and emotional resilience for a behavioral health setting.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care using core vocational nursing skills and techniques.
- Work under RN supervision to carry out patient care tasks and support the broader care plan.
- Communicate and collaborate closely with RNs and the rest of the care team.
- Help ensure patients receive safe, attentive, and compassionate care throughout the night shift.
