Prime Healthcare Services is seeking a Behavioral Health Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. You will work 12-hour day shifts (7:00 am–7:00 pm) in an inpatient behavioral health unit, delivering compassionate, hands-on care to patients with acute needs.

Formación

• Current and valid state license as an LPN (LVN) or Psychiatric Technician.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification.
• IV certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute mental and behavioral health needs in an inpatient setting.
• Monitor and document patient behavior, mental status, and safety risks.
• Administer medications as ordered and monitor for side effects.
• Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation to promote unit safety.
• Support admissions, discharges, and transfers, including patient education.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute mental and behavioral health needs in an inpatient setting
• Observe, monitor, and document patient behavior, mental status, and safety risks
• Administer medications as ordered and monitor for side effects
• Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation to promote unit safety
• Support admissions, discharges, and transfers, including patient education
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation per policy and regulations

Qualifications

• A current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
• A current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain it current.
• IV certification within 90 days of hire
