Job summary

BJC Behavioral Health in the St. Louis region is seeking an Intake Specialist to provide initial screening and evaluation for individuals seeking services.

The role involves triaging according to eligibility, coordinating referrals, and documenting the intake in the EMR to connect clients with internal or external supports. You will build rapport with clients and families, conduct psychosocial assessments, and draft treatment plans that align with DMH and program requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in related field.
• Experience with intake, eligibility screening, and psychosocial assessments is preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide an initial evaluation of need, triage services according to assessed need, and, if appropriate for BJC BH services, complete an initial psychosocial assessment and treatment plan.
• The ability to accurately evaluate a client’s observed and stated symptoms and the reports of others and make recommendations based on these evaluations.
• The ability to engage individuals and families to form a trusting relationship and to gather accurate information to formulate realistic treatment goals.
