Job summary

Qualifications

• BSN required; ADN acceptable if committed to obtaining BSN within three years of first day in clinical role.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• ER-specific: ACLS, PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire.
• Preferred: Trauma/Pediatric emergency care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess and record patient status upon admission or point of care entry.
• Organize health data for accurate, complete, and accessible records.
• Identify problems needing immediate attention and escalate as needed.
• Document diagnoses and plans of care to guide outcomes.
• Initiate discharge planning with patient/family and team.
• Provide patient and family education based on evidence-based practice.
