Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, social services, or counseling fields; AR licensure required.
• Master’s degree preferred with licensure (LCSW/LPC/RN).
• Two years experience in acute psychiatric settings; Arkansas licensure; CPI certification required or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Communicates pertinent information to patients, families, physicians, case managers and payers.
• Communicates patient psychiatric/medical status, risks, discharge plans and criteria.
• Keeps informed on admission criteria and CMS requirements for pre-admission activities.
• Maintains knowledge of unit administration and treatment program.
• Provides on-site clinical assessments for potential patients within hospital and from external referrals.
• Documents assessments accurately and coaches staff on corrections as needed.
• Assists in alternative placement recommendations when inpatient admission isn’t appropriate.
• Participates in emergency detentions and involuntary admissions processes.
• Demonstrates knowledge of mental health and substance use treatments.
• Notifies stakeholders of follow-ups and coordinates with hospital departments for screenings and transfers.
