Job summary

Integrated Services for Behavioral Health is seeking an Insurance Specialist to support insurance verification, authorizations, and billing navigation in Southeast Ohio. The role involves education and workflow improvements to enhance client access to care and timely payments.

You will collaborate with clinical, intake, billing, and scheduling teams, monitor payer changes, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and privacy rules.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in behavioral health insurance verification, authorizations, billing support, utilization review, or navigation.
• Experience in a community mental health or healthcare setting preferred.
• Advanced communication and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide staff education and consultation on insurance coverage, payer requirements, and eligibility verification.
• Develop workflows and materials to improve client insurance navigation across the organization.
• Escalate complex insurance questions and payer barriers affecting client care.
• Monitor renewals, coverage changes, and eligibility updates for staff and departments.
• Extract and organize insurance data in electronic health record systems to support continuity of care.

Education
