Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a Customer Service Associate to provide information and assistance to patients, visitors and staff. The role includes supervising and training R&I desk volunteers and ensuring a welcoming lobby environment.

Responsibilities include directing guests to locations, triaging inquiries by phone, coordinating appointments, and maintaining courteous, professional communication at all times in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a customer service position, preferably in an acute health care setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop a working knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Access hospital databases to provide pertinent information to our guests to direct them to the correct location/department.
• Answer the phone and triage incoming calls using the appropriate greeting, based on the time of day.
• Actively engages with hospital guests to assist in directions or any assistance needed, such as checking in for visitation, doctors' appointments, inpatient or outpatient services or interviews.
• Maintain all the appointments and ensure that the guests are not waiting too long by calling the appropriate department on a needed basis.
• Label all belongings with the appropriate person and unit; coordinate item pickup or transfer to security if needed.
• Provide supervision and training to R&I desk volunteers and collaborate with coworkers to improve performance.
