Job summary

Atrium Health Behavioral Health Charlotte, a freestanding behavioral health facility in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Nurse Manager to oversee the Behavioral Health ED/Observation unit and lead a team of RNs, clinicians, and support staff. The role requires extensive leadership and operational experience, with psychiatric experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities include staff recruitment, regulatory compliance, and coordinating clinical care to ensure high-quality outcomes in a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; RN licensure in appropriate state.
• MSN preferred; if undergraduate is BSN, master's in health-related field or MBA acceptable.
• BLS required by policy; certification within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations for the secure ED/Observation unit and lead a team of clinicians.
• Ensure compliance with Nursing Practice Act and regulatory standards.
• Recruit and retain qualified staff; oversee orientation and continuing education.
• Delegate effectively; promote shared governance and evidence-based practice.
