Job summary

Southeast Behavioral Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Technician to support in Cape Girardeau, MO. The role involves transporting patients and delivering routine mental health care in a compassionate, structured setting.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, documenting changes in patient behavior, and participating in group activities while engaging with diverse populations.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Licensure: Class E Driver's License preferred or obtained within time-frame upon hire.
Experience: One year of driving a van-type vehicle preferred; six months in a mental health setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in driving and transporting patients home.
Assume Mental Health Technician responsibilities when not transporting patients.
Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment; provide routine patient care in a psychiatric setting.
Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors.
Assist with patient groups and activities; work with diverse populations to meet needs.
Provide trauma-informed and age-specific care; maintain therapeutic boundaries and use crisis intervention techniques.
