Job summary

NaphCare is seeking a Behavioral Health Director for the Alabama Department of Corrections - Tutwiler Prison for Women in Wetumpka, AL. The role oversees clinical staff, ensures regulatory compliance, manages budgets, and partners with medical and correctional teams to deliver patient-centered care in a secure setting.

The position requires a master’s degree in a related field, Alabama licensure, and clinical leadership experience. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
• Active, unrestricted licensure as a relevant professional in Alabama (LCSW/LCMHC/LMFT/LMHP/LISW).
• Active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association preferred).
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive behavioral health leadership experience, including clinical and administrative roles.
• Strong leadership, budgetary analysis, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Defines department goals, develops policies, and oversees daily operations to improve mental health services.
• Oversees treatment services, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and high standards of care.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and conducts risk management.
• Directs recruitment, hiring, training, and performance evaluation of clinical staff.
• Prepares, manages, and oversees the department budget and ensures financial viability.
• Collaborates with medical, mental health, and correctional staff to enhance patient care in a secure environment.
• Monitors compliance with site-specific and company policies, ACA, and NCCHC standards.
