Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Greenville, NC seeks a Direct Care Technician for part-time mid shift to support clients in a detox center. You will help maintain a therapeutic, safe group environment and attend to welfare and basic needs of clients.

The role includes informal counseling using behavioral techniques and socialization skills, with on-the-job training provided. A high school diploma or GED is required and a valid driver’s license is needed for agency transportation.

Qualifications

• Entry-level, on-the-job training is provided.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Peer support certification or CNA certification a plus, but is not required.
• Maintain valid state appropriate driver’s license and auto insurance for personal and agency vehicles utilized for work.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a therapeutic and safe group environment and attend to the welfare and basic needs of clients.
• Provide informal counseling in the detox center that involve behavioral techniques, reality therapy, supportive encouragement and socialization skills for the clients.
