Job summary

Alexander Youth Network in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor for the 3rd shift. The role involves direct care, coordinating therapeutic activities, and monitoring clients within our treatment setting. A high school diploma is required, with preference for a B.A./B.S.

in a related field and four years of mental health experience. You will work as part of a supportive team, implementing our Model of Care and reporting client behaviors to therapeutic and medical staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• B.A./B.S. in a related human service field is preferred.
• Four years of experience in Mental Health is preferred.
• Ability to solve practical problems and address various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Provide, coordinate, and monitor direct care activities for clients in the treatment environment.
• Develop, implement, and facilitate therapeutic activities aligned with the agency's Model of Care.
• Offer interventions to maintain consumer baseline behaviors and monitor clients in crisis.
• Report behaviors to therapeutic and medical staff.
• Participate in 1 to 1 monitoring of clients when appropriate.

What You'll Do:

Provide, coordinate, and monitor a variety of direct care activities for the clients in our treatment environment. Develop, implement, and facilitate therapeutic activities consistent with the agency's Model of Care. You'll offer appropriate interventions to assist in maintaining consumer baseline behaviors. You will provide continuous monitoring of clients in crisis and report behaviors to therapeutic and medical staff. You will also participate in 1 to 1 monitoring of clients when deemed appropriate.
