Job summary

Provident Healthcare Consulting in Waterloo, IA seeks a Behavioral Health Coordinator to support the IRSH program. You will collaborate with persons supported, DSPs, nurses, case managers, and IDT to promote stability, safety, independence and community integration.

You will help ensure individualized behavioral supports, provide coaching to staff, assist with crisis prevention, and document outcomes. The role emphasizes trauma-informed, person-centered practice and requires strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Experience with mental health, behavioral, developmental, or complex support needs is preferred.
• Knowledge of behavioral health principles, crisis prevention, and de-escalation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain respectful relationships with persons supported.
• Promote dignity, autonomy, choice, independence, and individualized support.
• Identify strengths, triggers, early warning signs, and interventions.
• Participate in development and implementation of individualized behavioral support strategies.
• Support coping skills, emotional regulation, communication, and alternative behaviors.
• Encourage community integration and participation.
• Monitor progress and modify interventions as needed.
• Observe behavioral patterns and review data to identify trends.
• Assist with crisis plans and prevention strategies.
• Coordinate with providers and staff during crises.
• Provide staff training and coaching on behavioral health practices.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation of services and decisions.
