Behavioral Health Consultant II - Massachusetts

Location: This position is primarily a Remote/Virtual role. Ideal candidates must live within the state of Massachusetts and within 50 miles of an Elevance Health Corporate Office.

Work Shift: Wednesday - Sunday: 12:00 am - 8:30 am (EST). Eligible for Shift Differential.

The Behavioral Health Consultant II is responsible for providing 24/7 Behavioral Health and crisis line services to approximately 10 million lives.

Responsibilities include:

• Responding to initial customer contacts and requests for services, assessing situations, and determining appropriate actions.
• Providing telephone crisis intervention, assessment, short-term problem resolution, and referrals.
• Managing Critical Incident Stress Debriefing requests.
• Assessing members and helping them access behavioral healthcare benefits.
• Applying specialized knowledge in substance abuse, domestic abuse, grief counseling, workplace issues, and management consultation.

Minimum Requirements:

• HS diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of psychiatric/substance abuse experience and prior managed care experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Current, unrestricted license (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMHC) in applicable state(s).

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

• MA/MS degree preferred.
• Independent licensure preferred.
• Crisis call center experience preferred.
