Headway in the United States is seeking a Medical Coding Specialist to interpret and educate providers on ICD-10-CM, CPT, and CPT guidelines, ensuring accurate documentation and billing results.

You’ll act as a subject-matter expert, catch incorrect review results, and help scale our coding education for behavioral health. A CPC certification and 1–2 years in outpatient coding are required, with opportunities for equity and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• CPC certification required.
• 1–2 years of outpatient or professional-services coding experience, preferably in behavioral health.
• Strong grasp of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Interpret behavioral health documentation and coding review results and translate into provider education and feedback.
• Confirm accuracy of flagged findings and identify genuinely incorrect items to be corrected and escalated.
• Answer provider and internal questions on behavioral health coding and billing findings.
