Job summary

University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO is seeking an Associate Director of Behavioral Health Clinical & Operational Excellence. The role focuses on implementing clinical practice strategies to improve efficiency, scope standardization, revenue cycle optimization, and faculty well-being across the behavioral health teams.

The position includes 0.20 to 0.30 FTE (8-15 hours/week) of protected administrative time, with remaining time in clinical/patient care activities

Qualifications

• PhD or PsyD from APA-accredited program.
• Three years clinical experience in Behavioral Health within Pediatrics.
• Current Colorado licensure as a clinical psychologist.
• Eligibility for School of Medicine faculty appointment at relevant rank.

Responsibilities

• Support department-wide initiatives using QI/PI methodologies to optimize practice.
• Lead change management and engage stakeholders to ensure buy-in.
• Identify opportunities to improve behavioral health clinical practice models (scheduling, templates, access, productivity).
• Advocate for behavioral health clinical issues in leadership discussions on scope and well-being.
• Assist in defining project action plans and recommendations with the clinical excellence team.
• Participate in CHCO, CU Medicine, and School of Medicine leadership committees.
• Support workforce planning and position requests (STAR).
• Provide support in performance or disciplinary matters pertaining to behavioral health faculty.
• Liaise with School of Medicine Behavioral Health Executive Committee.
• Support postdoctoral psychology training programs.
