The Behavioral Health Care Manager II role enables associates to work virtually full-time, with the exception of required in-person training sessions, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. The Behavioral Health Care Manager II is responsible for managing requests for Applied Behavior Analysis outpatient professional treatment health benefits through telephonic or written review. Primary duties include using appropriate screening criteria knowledge and clinical judgment to assess member needs to ensure access to medically necessary quality behavioral healthcare in a cost-effective setting in accordance with UM Clinical Guidelines and contract; referring cases to Peer Reviewers as appropriate; performing psychiatric assessment, coordination, implementation, case planning, monitoring, and evaluating to promote quality member outcomes, optimize member health benefits, and promote effective use of health benefits and community resources; serving as a resource to other BH Care Managers; assisting with more complex cases; and participating in inter- and intradepartmental teams, projects, and initiatives.
Minimum requirements include an MA/MS in social work, counseling, or a related behavioral health field, or a nursing degree, with a minimum of 3 years of experience with facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment. A current active unrestricted license such as RN, LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LPC, LBA, LMFT, or Clinical Psychologist is required to practice as a health professional within the scope of licensure in applicable states or territories of the US. For states not requiring licensure, a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) is acceptable if criteria are met. Previous experience in case management/utilization management with complex psychiatric/substance abuse cases and prior managed care experience are required. Preferred skills include strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication, problem-solving, facilitation, and analytical skills.
The position offers a salary range of $64,980 to $117,990 for candidates working in person or virtually in California, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada.
