Work Location: This is a remote position based in Texas. The manager prefers candidates near Austin or San Antonio, but is open to candidates in the Dallas/Fort Worth area or in New Mexico if necessary.
Contract Duration: May 19, 2025, to December 31, 2025.
This role is 100% on a clinical queue staffed exclusively with behavioral health clinicians responsible for making clinical decisions to approve treatment requests or refer cases for peer review. Clinicians handle incoming calls from providers requesting authorization and may assist members in crisis situations.
Ensure accurate and timely review of behavioral health cases for medical necessity, including assisting members via telephone, reviewing medical records, interpreting behavioral health diagnoses, and applying medical necessity criteria across various levels of care.
