Job summary

Revive BHS is seeking an experienced Insurance Authorization Supervisor to lead our verification and authorization operations. You will manage a team, ensure timely initial and concurrent authorizations, and support efficient reimbursement for behavioral health clients across commercial, Medicaid, and MCO payers.

You will collaborate with clinical and billing teams, maintain compliant processes, and drive improvements in workflows and turnaround times.

Qualifications

• Three+ years in insurance authorizations or revenue cycle in behavioral health.
• Previous supervisory or team-lead experience.
• Knowledge of SUD and mental health services (residential, PHP, IOP, outpatient).
• Experience with commercial insurance, Medicaid, and Medicaid MCOs.
• Familiarity with ASAM Criteria and utilization management guidelines.
• Proficient with insurance payer portals and tracking tools.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the authorization team, ensuring timely submission and approvals.
• Monitor initial, concurrent and continued-stay requests and follow-ups.
• Coordinate with clinical teams to obtain documentation for authorizations.
• Handle denials, appeals, and peer-to-peer reviews to maximize reimbursement.
• Maintain compliance with payer requirements and HIPAA guidelines.
• Develop standardized processes and reporting for turnaround times and denials.
• Collaborate with billing, eligibility, and client organizations to reduce gaps.
