Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Associate to support the emergency departments and medical units. The role emphasizes collaboration with clinicians on treatment plans and discharge planning, with a focus on safety and de‑escalation strategies.

The position is based at Union Hospital - Cecil County Campus, Maryland, with day/evening shifts (9:00 am–9:30 pm) and alternating weekends/holidays. Prior nursing education experience is valued, along with relevant degrees.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Psychology, Sociology, Education or related discipline.
• 1 year experience in nursing educational groups.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

About This Position

The Behavorial Health Associate will contribute to the overall operation of the organization and the day-to-day care of the behavioral health patient within the emergency departments and on the medical units throughout the organization. To collaborate with other health care professionals on patient treatment, diagnoses, plans of care, behavioral plans of care, discharge plans, and other related information. Also, to promote patient and staff safety through early intervention using least restrictive measures possible and reduce the need for restraints and seclusions.

*****This is a Part Time position has a Day/ Evening shift. Typical shift 9a-9:30p, every other weekend and every other holiday. The position works out of Union Hospital - Cecil County Campus - Maryland.*****

Education and experience requirements

B. S. Psychology, Sociology, Education or related discipline

1 year experience in nursing educational groups

A. S. Mental Health Services or related principle

3 years experience in nursing educational groups.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Hourly Pay Range: $21.45 - $32.17

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
