Job summary

Life Center of Galax in Galax, VA, is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate for night shift at an off-campus house. You will provide personal care services under clinical or nursing supervision and maintain patient safety at all times.

Responsibilities include documenting in patient records, supervising patients, supporting activities of daily living, and facilitating educational groups to promote coping skills and independent living. Competitive benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required.
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a sense of urgency related to patient safety and provide excellent customer services.
• Ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive and structured environment.
• Responsible for conducting safety checks and ensuring supervision at 15 minute intervals as needed.
• Document timely, accurate and appropriate clinical information in patient’s medical record.
• Assist in providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment for patients, significant others and staff.
