Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
• Knowledge of common psychiatric disorders and/or dual diagnosis and various treatment modalities of the population served preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, supportive, and structured environment for clients.
• Maintains constant supervision and awareness of clients.
• Performs safety checks and follows supervision guidelines.
• Checks for contraband and manages client belongings.
• Interacts with clients, observes behaviors, and reports to supervisor.
• Encourages group therapy attendance and participation in activities.
• Leads educational-rehabilitative groups on topics like social skills and coping skills.
• Records vital signs and communicates changes to nursing staff.
• Documents client records accurately and timely.
• Applies de-escalation techniques to manage emotions and behavior.
• Supports unit operations including charting and discharge processes.
• Reports incidents and coordinates with staff as needed.
• Provides orientation to new clients and introduces programs.
