Job summary

Comprehensive Healthcare in Washington is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate to provide care, support, and a safe living environment in our 24-hour inpatient and residential facilities. You will deliver supportive counseling and help clients build skills through individual or group sessions as part of an interdisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, recovery-oriented treatment, teamwork, and effective communication.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous related experience preferred.
  • Must be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated Counselor.
  • Must have valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct social & leisure activities for clients.
  • Facilitate educational, behavioral health, or skill-building groups.
  • Coach clients in practical living skills such as nutrition, budgeting, and other independent living activities.
  • Accompany clients to appointments, community events, and outings.
  • Provide daily oversight of medication self-administration and monitoring symptoms & medication response.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment and properly use PPE, including N95 respirators.
  • Complete required documentation reflecting activities, goals, and progress of each client.

Behavioral Health Associates provide supportive counseling and skills development through individual or group sessions to assist clients with stabilizing symptoms and learning illness management skills. These positions are part of an interdisciplinary team that provides individualized, trauma-informed treatment in collaboration with the client’s natural support systems to help ensure a smooth transition to community outpatient treatment. This role is best suited to someone who communicates effectively, remaining supportive and empathetic during challenging situations, and who values teamwork and collaboration in working toward the goal of improving the lives of the individuals we serve. A general understanding of behavioral health issues is helpful.Behavioral Health Associate duties may include:developing and conducting social & leisure activities for clientsfacilitating educational, behavioral health, or skill-building groupscoaching clients in practical living skills such as nutrition, budgeting, and other independent living activitiesaccompanying clients to appointments, community events, and outingsproviding daily oversight of medication self-administration and monitoring symptoms & medication responsemaintaining a safe and clean environment, which may vary from general housekeeping to deep cleaning depending on assigned facilitycompleting required documentation that reflects the activities, goals, and progress of each clientensuring the safety of yourself, other staff, and clients by properly using personal protective equipment (PPE), including N95 respirator masks, when appropriateSchedule:Qualifications:High school diploma or GEDPrevious related experience preferredMust be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated CounselorMust have valid driver's license and vehicle liability insuranceIt is the policy of Comprehensive Healthcare to ensure that employees are provided the equipment necessary to protect their health from respiratory disease in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Respirators, training, and medical evaluations are provided at no cost to the employee during normal working hours. The medical evaluation will determine the employee’s ability to use a respirator and is required prior to completing fit testing of the respirator. Fit testing will be performed using the same make, model, style, and size of respirator that will be used by the employee when at work. A respirator is designed to achieve a very close facial fit and very efficient filtration of airborne particles. The edges of the respirator are designed to form a seal around the nose and mouth. To achieve this, employees must (a) arrive for fit testing clean shaven around the sealing surface of the mask; (s) have nothing to eat or drink other than plain water for 20 minutes prior to the appointment; and (3) have not smoked, vaped, or chewed gum for 20 minutes prior to the appointment.Detox & Crisis Triage Center is a sixteen-bed facility that serves adults who are experiencing substance use or mental health crises who need a safe environment to stabilize.
