Job summary

The Behavioral Health Assistant role at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission is based in Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center. You will support the Behavioral Health Department by developing treatment strategies, assisting in SAPs and PBSPs, and training staff while collecting and reporting data.

The position requires a four-year degree in psychology or a related field, experience in psychological work, and the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience in psychological work is preferred.
• Graduation from a four-year college with major coursework in psychology or a related field.
• Experience teaching, training or coaching others.
• Experience participating as a member of a multidisciplinary/ interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Develop treatment and training strategies; provide therapy as needed.
• Assist in development of SAPs and PBSPs; collect and report data.
• Train direct care staff on plans and data collection.
• Enter and report data from electronic health records and Excel.
• Support disaster response and Continuity of Operations (COOP) activities.
