Job summary

TrustPoint Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Behavioral Health Admissions team. This PRN position offers 12-hour shifts (7:00–7:00) with day or night options, facilitating admissions, intake assessments, and utilization reviews to ensure appropriate care levels.

The role requires a nursing license, at least one year of clinical experience, and CPR/de-escalation certification, with First Aid optional.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Associate’s degree in Nursing.
• Minimum one year of clinical or observational experience.
• Clear and active nursing license in the state.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required.
• First aid may be required.

Responsibilities

• Review medical documentation for admissions and obtain orders.
• Facilitate emergency transfers when needed and review referrals.
• Assess level of care and collaborate with medical/psychiatric staff.
• Perform insurance verifications and secure pre-authorization.
• Coordinate admissions, consent, and patient belongings.
• Monitor patient status and track referrals using web-based programs.
• Ensure documentation supports authorization and payor guidelines.
• Admit patients and complete all forms with empathy and professionalism.
• Coordinate care for non-admitted patients and ensure follow-up.
