Job summary

Rite of Passage Brand seeks an Executive Director to launch and lead a new Residential Treatment Center (PRTF) in Maryland. The role requires hands-on operation, regulatory accountability, and clinical oversight, with ownership from licensure through first admissions.

You will build the staffing model, ensure compliance, manage budget and census, and serve as the on-the-ground decision-maker alongside the Clinical Director. This is a rare opportunity for an operator-driven leader.

Qualifications

Executive Director — Residential Treatment Center (PRTF) | Maryland

A new behavioral health organization is launching a Residential Treatment Center (Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility - PRTF level of care) in Maryland, and we're looking for a founding Behavioral Health Administrator to build and lead it from the ground up.

This is not an oversight role. We need someone who has personally run a licensed RTC/PRTF — full operational, regulatory, and clinical accountability, not a division within a larger portfolio. If you haven't directly led a facility at this level of care, this role isn't the right fit.

What You Will Do?

Lead day-to-day operations of a new RTC: staffing and scheduling, regulatory compliance, budget and census management, admissions and discharge planning, and clinical oversight alongside your Clinical Director. You'll be the on-the-ground decision-maker — not someone who delegates the details.

What You Bring?

• Direct, hands-on leadership experience as Executive Director, Administrator, or CEO of a licensed Residential Treatment Center or PRTF — not an adjacent or broader role
• Fluency in state licensing and CMS/behavioral health regulatory requirements
• Comfort operating the business, operational and clinical sides of the facility — budget and staffing, incident response, on the ground leadership as well as treatment planning and psychiatric/nursing coverage
• Experience standing up a new program from licensure through first admissions is a strong plus
• Based in or willing to relocate to Maryland
