Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) caregiver to provide direct support and positive direction to individuals with developmental disabilities and complex needs. You will help people live independently with dignity, safety, and respect in a supportive home-like setting.

You will assist with daily living tasks, reinforce care plans, document progress, and collaborate with a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older
• Valid driver's license required (due to transporting persons served)
• Some positions may require your own vehicle and auto liability insurance
• Person-centered, patient and kind
• Dependable, adaptable, flexible
• Observant and detail oriented
• Good communication to document care and collaborate with team
• Background clearance required as part of onboarding

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene and more.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry duties

Job Description

What You Get To Do:

Some of the people we support experience significant mental health or behavioral challenges. These may include verbal or physical aggression, emotional distress, or other behaviors that require patience, sound judgment, and effective crisis-management skills.

ADirect Support Professional (DSP) caregiverprovides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect.
