Texas Health Huguley is seeking a PRN Healthcare Associate for night shifts in Burleson, TX. The role involves observing patients, implementing patient-centered and trauma-informed care, creating a therapeutic environment, and performing rounds with real-time documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Observes patients to detect behavior patterns and report observations to the nurse or behavioral health clinician.
  • Implements patient-centered and trauma-informed care.
  • Creates and supports a therapeutic environment for safe treatment implementation.
  • Performs observation rounds and documents in real time to detect behavior patterns.
  • Uses clear communication to assess and provide therapeutic interventions for patients and families.
  • Records vital signs and blood glucose levels as ordered.
  • Orients patients and families to the unit.
  • Identifies early signs of escalation and de-escalates.
  • Intervenes to restrain violent or potentially violent or suicidal patients as required, and monitors restraints.
  • Performs environmental rounds per policy and reports unsafe conditions.
  • Manages or assists with daily group activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

PRN Shift: Night (United States of America) Address: 11801 SOUTH FWY City: BURLESON State: Texas Postal Code: 76028 Job Description: Schedule: 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM). Day and night shift opportunities available. Candidates with the flexibility to work either shift are strongly preferred.

Job Description
  • Observes patients to detect behavior patterns and report observations and concerns to the registered nurse or behavioral health clinician.
  • Implements patient-centered care and trauma-informed care.
  • Creates and supports a therapeutic environment for safe treatment implementation.
  • Performs observation rounds on assigned patients, documenting in real time, in order to detect behavior patterns.
  • Utilizes clear and positive communication skills to assess and provide therapeutic intervention for patients' and families' needs and concerns.
  • Records measures of patients' general physical condition, such as vital signs and blood glucose levels, as ordered.
  • Orients patients and families to the unit.
  • Identifies early signs of escalation in patients and effectively de-escalates.
  • Intervenes to restrain violent or potentially violent or suicidal patients as required, and monitors patients in restraints according to policy guidelines.
  • Performs environmental rounds per policy and report unsafe conditions.
  • Manages or assists with daily group activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate appropriately, professionally, and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]
  • Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and local, state, and national laws [Required]
  • Proficiency in computer systems to enter and track patient records [Required]
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English [Required]
Education
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Work Experience
  • 1+ year of position related experience [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]

Pay Range
