Job summary

Texas Health Huguley Hospital is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) for PRN night shifts in Burleson, Texas. The role observes patients, delivers patient-centered and trauma-informed care, and helps create a therapeutic environment for safe treatment.

Duties include documenting vital signs, de-escalation, and assisting with daily group activities. Qualifications include a High School diploma, BLS CPR, and preferred CNA.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate appropriately, professionally, and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals.
• Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and local, state, and national laws.
• Proficiency in computer systems to enter and track patient records.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English.

Responsibilities

• Observes patients to detect behavior patterns and report observations and concerns to the registered nurse or behavioral health clinician.
• Implements patient-centeredcare and trauma-informed care.
• Creates and supports a therapeutic environment for safe treatment implementation.
• Performs observation rounds on assigned patients, documenting in real time to detect behavior patterns.
• Utilizes clear and positive communication to assess and provide therapeutic intervention for patients and families.
• Records measures of patients' physical condition such as vital signs and glucose levels as ordered.
• Orients patients and families to the unit and identifies early signs of escalation and de-escalates.
• Intervenes to restrain violent or potentially violent or suicidal patients per policy and monitors in restraints.
• Performs environmental rounds and reports unsafe conditions.
• Manages or assists with daily group activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

12-hour shifts (6:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM). Day and night shift opportunities available. Candidates with the flexibility to work either shift are strongly preferred.

Education:

Work Experience:
