We are currently seeking a full-time Behavioral Analyst to join our team at Bureau of Autism Support located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Shift: Day; 37.5 Hours; Monday and Wednesday – report to office in Harrisburg; Remote work rest of week – subject to change based on state policy

The Employee will receive assignments from and report to the BSASP Director of Clinical Services. Assignments may include the following:

  • Build capacity by collaborating across state systems with other clinical consultants and government agencies about supporting individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, and children with medically complex conditions.
  • Assist in the assessment of capacity and needs statewide in children and adults with autism and children with medically complex conditions service systems.
  • Work with provider agencies to increase internal capacity in Office of Developmental Program trainings, protocols, and regulations.
  • Provide high level clinical consultations to providers supporting individuals with autism and other complex needs across ODP programs
  • Collaborate with community teams and recommend clinical interventions and strategies for complex cases.
  • Collaborate with the Bureau of Community Supports (BCS) Clinical consultants to provide consultation for complex cases
  • Attend and contribute to meetings within ODP and across systems.
  • ODP lead for efforts related to supporting children with medically complex conditions.
  • Coordinate with teams involved in current transitions of children with medically complex conditions. Assist in tracking information, reviewing reports, and preparing reports.
  • Serves as a resource and provide technical assistance related to Medically Complex Conditions
  • Participate and provide guidance to Family Facilitators/Coordinators and Pediatric Coaches leading transition planning for individuals moving to the community.

Train staff at all levels to use peer-reviewed, evidence-based interventions with outcome measures that match the needs of persons with ASD and their families.

  • Work with BSASP clinical team to develop and deliver in-person and virtual trainings, and resources needed to improve service delivery to children and adults living with autism.
  • Assist staff with the implementation of statewide standards regarding diagnosis, assessment, treatment and support to Pennsylvanians with ASD.
  • Write and review training materials, including manuals, on-line modules, e-learning materials, tools, resources, and policy.
  • Participate in the development of training protocols and best practice standards for service providers.
  • Perform research through direct contact or by electronic means. Analyze a variety of material and data and develop conclusions.

Work with BSASP Director of Clinical Services to ensure completion of all activities for the PA Autism Surveillance Project (PASP) through CDC’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network.

  • Manage all grant components under the direction of the identified PASP’s principal investigator.
  • Oversee the work of PASP data abstractors including training; providing support and guidance; and ensuring tasks are completed and deadlines are met.
  • Outreach to data sources including school districts and health systems.
  • Coordinate efforts with Commonwealth of PA partners including DHS- PeopleStat, Office of Child Development, and Early Learning, Department of Education, and Department of Health.
  • Compile, write, and submit CDC ADDM network reporting requirements.

Develop presentations and materials as requested; will support development of presentations by the Director and others in the Bureau, Office, and Department.

Perform other duties (not outlined above) as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in psychology, education, social work, or other related field with an emphasis on behavioral supports with a minimum five (5) years in service delivery systems to individuals living with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other co-occurring and developmental disabilities. OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social work, or other related field with an emphasis on behavioral supports with a minimum ten (10) years in service delivery systems to individuals living with ASD and other co-occurring developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavioral Analysis, Positive Behavioral Supports, cognitive-behavioral treatment methods, mental health theories, concepts, and methods related to treatment and/or a skill set and experience relevant to the approaches being implemented across all service delivery systems in the Commonwealth for people with autism and other co-occurring and developmental disabilities.
  • High level computer skills including database design and management, Data Visualization Software. Experience with web-based training platforms preferred. Advanced Skills Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to develop PowerPoint presentations and speak in public forums.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, including computer-based communication using e-mail, word processing and database systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritize a variety of competing demands and deadlines.
  • Ability to work with a variety of individuals in teams, both as a leader and as a participant, who are geographically dispersed.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
