The Behavior Analyst conducts assessments to identify deficits and excess impacting each childs ability to learn. Individualized treatment plans are designed based on assessment results and supported through staff training and data analysis. The Behavior Analyst teaches staff to implement treatment plans with fidelity, record data accurately and respond to patient learning needs. Data systems are designed, checked for accuracy and analyzed on a routine basis. Staff members are supported through routine completion of fidelity checklists, patient specific coaching, ongoing supervision required for certification as registered behavior technicians and other professional learning as necessary. Family training is provided based on patient and family need. Reports are submitted as required reflecting data-based assessment of progress. The Behavior Analyst demonstrates excellent professionalism and collaboration skills.

Position Summary

The Behavior Analyst is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and overseeing individualized behavior intervention programs for children with autism and other developmental needs. Working collaboratively with patients, families, Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and interdisciplinary team members, this role utilizes evidence-based practices and data-driven decision-making to improve skill development, reduce challenging behaviors, and maximize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct behavioral assessments and functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify skill deficits and behavioral needs.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient-specific needs.
• Lead the development and implementation of both focused and comprehensive behavioral programming.
• Analyze patient data, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and modify interventions to support ongoing progress.
• Develop, maintain, and validate data collection systems to ensure accurate measurement of patient outcomes.
• Ensure treatment plans are implemented with fidelity through ongoing observation, coaching, and supervision.
• Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and performance feedback to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).
• Support and supervise individuals pursuing BCBA certification, as applicable.
• Train staff on behavior intervention strategies, teaching procedures, data collection methods, and treatment protocols.
• Provide family education, consultation, and training to promote consistency across home, school, and community settings.
• Collaborate with families, physicians, therapists, educators, and other professionals to coordinate services and maximize outcomes.
• Serve as a behavioral health resource and consultant within the organization.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives, program development, staff training, and continuing education activities.
• Complete treatment plans, progress reports, session notes, charge entries, and other required documentation in compliance with organizational, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
• Make appropriate referrals for additional services and evaluations when needed.
• Maintain flexibility in programming and service delivery to meet patient and community needs.

Qualifications

Required Education

• Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.

Required Licensure & Certification

• Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) required.
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of applied experience working with children with special needs.
• Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and developing Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
• Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized educational and behavioral programs.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based interventions and best practices for children with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a clinical internship.
• Research experience in applied behavior analysis.
• Experience supervising, coaching, and training staff with varying levels of experience and skill.
• Experience providing parent education and training programs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong understanding of behavior analytic principles and evidence-based interventions for children with autism and developmental disabilities.
• Ability to collect, graph, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to guide clinical decision-making.
• Proficiency in developing behavior intervention plans and skill acquisition programs.
• Ability to provide effective supervision, coaching, and constructive feedback to staff.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of typical child development and behavioral assessment practices.
• Commitment to BACB ethical standards, patient confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with families and interdisciplinary teams.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently sit, stand, bend, kneel, squat, crawl, reach, and move throughout treatment environments.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to implement crisis intervention and behavior support procedures following training.
• Ability to respond quickly and safely to patient behaviors and treatment needs.
