Job summary

Elk Hill Farm, Inc. in Harrisonburg, VA seeks a Behavioral Aide to support students with emotional and behavioral needs in our private day schools. You will coach students, model appropriate behaviors, and collaborate with teachers to implement our behavior program throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth with various backgrounds (ED, SLD, OHI, Autism, ID) preferred.
• Must have CPR/First Aid certification and Behavior Management training.
• Willingness to apply skills in day-to-day interactions with youth.
• Maintain valid driver's license and good driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach, model and coach students in emotional-regulation strategies.
• Manage escalation and crisis situations using the Behavior Management Program.
• Supervise students and monitor hallway activity.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors and Dean of Students on behavior.
• Determine and implement consequences with Dean of Students/Head of School.
• Provide classroom assistance when extra coverage is needed.
• Build positive relationships with students and families while maintaining boundaries.
• Complete data collection and reporting of student behavior on deadlines.
• Prepare timely, professional monthly student reports.
• Participate in required trainings and CEU provisions.
